You are driving in your car, it is a hot dusty dry day, you still have a way to go on your journey and the traffic has crawled to a virtual standstill.

A car approaches you from a side road. As it pulls up to the turning, you wave them on with a smile allowing them to join the queue in front of you. You receive a big smile and a thumbs up in return. The smile opens you up inside, the feeling makes you feel good, you have ticked the good deed box. The traffic continues, a bit of frustration steps in, how long is this going to take, you find peace in the moment, no real pressure yet, still time to get things done.

Another car approaches from a side road ahead, the car in front of you moves forward to close the gap preventing them from turning into the road, you can see the other driver’s annoyed reaction in response. The traffic slowly moves forward, it is your turn now, you brake and flash your lights indicating your allowance for them to join the flow of cars in front of you. The car pulls into the gap, the driver provides no acknowledgement of your actions, no smile, no thanks. The car behind you beeps their horn and in your rear view mirror you see them indicating their annoyance at you ‘adding another car’ to the queue, they gesture their displeasure to you with a hand signal. You ‘converse’ back with them in muttered tones, they can’t hear you but you hold a conversation with them anyway.

Annoyed, you slowly move forward with the traffic, time is starting to add up now, its hot, you have things to do, being stuck in traffic is not where you want to be right now. You make some progress, some light relief for a moment, only to join the back of another queue stretching into the distance, Again, another side road joins onto your road, another car speeds up to the junction, the driver edges their front bumper out into the road placing their demands onto the other road users, the car in front blocks the gap, you move slowly forward again, locking onto the tailgate of the car in front of you, an imaginary chain joins your two cars together, only millimetres separate you.

You keep your eyes firmly locked in front of you, your head has become like stone, fixed in one position, no eye contact, no indication of ‘giving in’ to the demands of this new threat to the natural order that has been created between you and the drivers in front and behind you. You have become used to each other now, you are working together as a team, there is no room for an outsider to join your ranks and create chaos and upset the established equilibrium, their is an unspoken pact you have created between you.

The rogue driver pushes forward, but you are now unwavering, quantum entangled to the car in front of you – the car driver that gave you no thanks and no acknowledgement is now your best friend, you are bonded together as One.
The new driver bangs on their horn in frustration – Let me in. I have rights. Who are you to stop me becoming one of you?
The traffic inches forward, no where to go, nothing to offer this insolent intruder. Through opened windows, they unleash a torrent of pent-up abuse towards you, years of embedded trauma released into the air this day and you are the intended target of its malevolent intent. The keywords, the triggers are contained amongst the other inevitable responses – selfish, inconsiderate, uncaring – is what you hear.

All your previous generous actions counted for nothing with the reactions of this one scenario. All that has gone before means nothing, as the embodied representative of an Ego dominated Soul chooses you there and then as the focus of blame for their entire human existence on this planet.

And that is the moment you remember who you are, you too are a Soul embodied on Earth. This encounter has demonstrated to you that you are not the product of your environment, that you do not have to become the personification of the energy forced upon you at this moment in time and space. You choose to be a Sovereign Being. And that will shape the next few moments, your next thoughts, your next actions, your next decision. It is in these next few moments when you can demonstrate to the world that has been created around this single event, who you truly are, in word, in deed, in heart and in action.

You choose what comes next.

And  the Moral of the Story is:
With any action, it is you that chooses your reaction.
Destiny is built from choices, not from following the demands and expectations of Others.
